Abortion, Planned Parenthood, and Political Correctness | Ed Cocchiola, Republican Candidate for Arizona Legislative District 1
Abortion in Arizona
I am against abortion in Arizona because it is the taking of human life. The very concept of abortion directly opposes the commonly accepted idea of the sanctity of human life. Civilized society does not permit one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment through the due process of law.
Some women demand complete control of their bodies. All well and good, but this control should include taking the responsibility to prevent the risk of unwanted pregnancy through the effective use of contraception or abstinence.
Abortion sometimes causes psychological pain and stress that last throughout the rest of a woman’s life. Minors are often those who choose abortion. Also included are young women without enough life experience to fully understand what they are doing. Many of them sustain lifelong regrets and guilt.
Tax Funding of Planned Parenthood
If Republican politicians honestly believe that women deserve better health-care options than Planned Parenthood, and if they truly want to prevent taxpayer dollars from indirectly underwriting procedures that end human lives, they must be vocal about refusing to have their tax money used to pay for abortions.
Through the political deception of the Left, they have been swindled into thinking that many women rely on Planned Parenthood as their primary source of health care. They are led to believe many women will be left in the lurch without healthcare resources if the group is defunded. In reality, Planned Parenthood provides very few necessary health-care services. Most of the procedures it does offer, apart from abortion-related services, are on the decline.
Is it about choice? Yes. Why should your taxes or mine pay for the choices of others? Let’s all pay our way for the choices we make, right or wrong.
The Tyranny of Political Correctness
I could go on all day about allowing abortion in Arizona, but let’s cut to the chase about the tyranny of Political Correctness. One of the most tyrannical aspects of Political Correctness is the gender confusion that liberal parents are forcing on their children. Gender confusion is a person finding it difficult to accept what gender he or she is. It is common among people who choose to not adhere to traditional gender roles. Parents must make the roles of the father (a male) and the mother (a female) very clear, so that children understand and affirm that there are differences between boys and girls. The fact is that there are two genders based on biological differences: male and female.
